Reading group ”Juttuja Suomesta” (Things about Finland)
The Reading group ”Juttuja Suomesta” (Things about Finland) meets every Thursday from 16.30 to 18.00 at Café Hoffi (address Palokunnankatu 9, Hämeenlinna).
The reading group reads Liisa Pyykkönen’s book Juttuja Suomesta (2018) and talks about its subjects. Juttuja Suomesta is a plain language book. In this book there are fictional short stories and short information texts. The texts refer to i.a. different nature phenomena, seasons of the year or holidays. Many of the information texts provide instructions on daily life, like domestic and health care.
The reading group is intended for immigrants and their friends who speak Finnish (language level A.1.3 – B.1.2, or active elementary language skill – fluent basic language skill).
No registration needed. The reading group is free of charge.
The reading group is run by Angela Heikkilä and Sini Kiuas. More information: librarian Sini Kiuas, sini.kiuas(at)hameenlinna.fi
